Mahshad Afshar (b. Esfahan, 1979) is an Iranian , London based writer, director and visual artist. Graduated from London Film School in Filmmaking/ Directing (MA) in 2013, she is currently studying Screen Media Research at Kingston University (PHD). Her debut feature film "Cul-de-sac" was screened at more than twenty-three international film festivals, Amnesty international London and many other human rights and women's right organizations and was recognized as one of the most important LGBT productions of 2010. She has recently produced a short film "Angelus Novus" Directed by Aboozar Amini in Batman-Turkey, which was officially selected and screened at many International Film Festivals including Rotterdam, Nederland film festival, Winner of the Best Short Film at FILM Middle East NOW in Florence, Winner of best short film at Tehran International Short Film Festival.
